About Us

Duane Phillips is a prominent developer and business owner based in Jenks, Oklahoma. He owns Oak Properties Development Company, Phillips Construction LLC, and co-owns the architectural and engineering firm Phillips Slaughter Rose LLC. Phillips has been instrumental in several significant developments in the area. He has invested more than $50 million into the growth and success of Cherry Street.

Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a Master’s Degree in Architectural Engineering from Oklahoma State University. Beyond his professional endeavors, he has served as an associate professor in the School of Architecture at Oklahoma State University for six years. A native of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Phillips resides in Jenks with his wife, Janet, and their two children. His personal interests include fishing, traveling, and supporting Oklahoma State University athletics. In 2021 and 2022, he won the NAIOP Developer of the Year Award.

Seth Phillips is a resident of Jenks, Oklahoma, with a background in mechanical engineering and aviation. He studied mechanical engineering at Oklahoma State University and graduated from Jenks High School.

Professionally, Phillips serves as the Chief Financial Officer at Oak Properties, LLC.

In the aviation sector, Governor J. Kevin Stitt appointed Phillips to represent District 1 on the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission, with his term set to expire on December 31, 2028. As an avid pilot, he has accumulated over 1,200 flight hours and holds various certifications, including a private pilot license, instrument rating, and turbine (CE525 Type Rating) certification. His community involvement includes providing free flights for cancer patients, participating in hurricane and medical relief efforts, and offering discovery flights for children.

Phillips is also active in his community, serving as co-chair of the American Heart Association’s Cycle Nation Fundraiser in Tulsa. He is a member of St. James Church of Tulsa and enjoys restoring antique automobiles and airplanes, as well as international travel.

Ben Edwards is the Construction Manager and Project superintendent for Oak Properties. Ben, a graduate of Oklahoma State has worked in the construction side of commercial real estate for nearly 25 years. Ben has been a keystone in every development since the founding of Oak Properties. Bringing modern style & elevated tech into every project, Ben is a vital part of Oak Properties’ success.

Donnie Lee Nero Jr. (DJ Nero) is a dynamic professional and community-focused individual with deep roots in Oklahoma. The son of two longtime educators in Sapulpa, Donnie graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1988 before launching a multifaceted career that reflects his passion for leadership, creativity, and service.

After relocating to Irvine, California in 2002, he expanded his horizons—starting a family and exploring new professional opportunities—before returning to Oklahoma in 2019. Now based in Glenpool, DJ Nero remains actively involved in both his community and church. Nero is now a property Manager for Oak Properties, with real estate in the Metro Tulsa Area.

With a natural gift for connection and communication, DJ Nero blends his local roots with a forward-thinking mindset. Whether he’s leasing residential properties, helping his daughter Berlin sharpen her basketball skills, or volunteering through his church and community, he brings authenticity, purpose, and dedication to everything he does.
